The Program...

Technology Hot Buttons: There’s no shortage of “hot buttons” in the technology space. For example, regulators want at least six kinds of risk assessments. Can you name them? Exactly what does “enterprise wide” mean? Is our business resumption plan sufficient in scope? Has it been tested? How do we deal with Pandemic Flu? Must we implement multi-factor authentication? Is our customers’ non-public information secured against disclosure? Is our IT internal audit coverage adequate? What sort of “incident” should our incident response plan cover? In this segment, you’ll learn the latest trends in regulatory focus on technology, and find out how other Pennsylvania banks are dealing with them.

Fair Lending Risk Assessments and Self Testing: We are experiencing an unprecedented mortgage crisis. Foreclosures are at an all time high and many borrowers with sub-prime or non-traditional mortgages are finding that they can no longer make their mortgage payments. In the midst of this crisis, the banking regulators are uncovering evidence of discrimination and unfair lending practices. This has brought fair lending to the forefront of compliance examinations. All of the banking regulators are regularly including comparative file reviews as part of their exams. They also are expecting all size banks (not just the big mortgage players!) to be conducting their own fair lending risk assessments and comparative file reviews. This means that banks need to implement a process to regularly review their loan policies, underwriting criteria, and loan data to determine the lending products and customers that may be most vulnerable to discrimination and identify loan files that should be tested. In this session, you’ll learn about the basic elements that should be included in a fair lending risk assessment. We’ll also review the comparative file review process – how to choose the files and the types of fair lending testing that can be done.

Compliance Hot Topics: Each year, as more and more laws are passed, it becomes increasingly difficult to keep up with all the changes. This session provides busy compliance professionals with a way to keep abreast of new compliance laws and regulations, regulatory proposals, and up-to-date changes. Discussions are encouraged among participants to facilitate all viewpoints and interpretations.
