The PACB Foundation

Scholarships Available

The PACB Foundation is happy to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2010/2011 PACB Foundation Scholarships available to high school seniors who will be attending full-time, an accredited college, university, or community college. All applicants must be legal dependents of PACB member institutions' full time employees or directors. Five deserving seniors will each receive a $1,000.00 renewable scholarship for the academic year.

PLEASE NOTE THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINE DATE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MARCH 19, 2010.

Purpose

The PACB Foundation was organized for the purpose of providing funds to be used for educational endeavors.

Since its inception in 1994, the PACB Foundation has awarded sixty-four $1,000 renewable scholarships.

2009 Students of Distinction

Megan Bone

Megan Bone is the daughter of Thomas Bone, a Trustee at Brentwood Bank in Bethel Park. Megan will continue her education as a Pre-Medicine/Biology Major at Notre Dame University. At Mt. Lebanon High School, Megan was a member of the Marching Band and very active in the Girl Scouts. She also completed 5 AP classes during her junior/senior years - the equivalent of a full college semester!

"Throughout my life I have embraced the concept of helping others and contributing my time, knowledge, and effort to others."

Sienna Kelsey George is the daughter of Jill George, Vice President of HR at Dime Bank in Honesdale. Sienna will be a Freshman this fall at Penn State University studying Chemical Engineering. At Honesdale High School, Sienna was captain of the Cross Country team, and a member of the Girl Scouts, Envirothon Team, and Student Council. Sienna's class rank was 2 out of 226!

"I know that my community has gotten me to this point in my life, and I'm excited for the future I can bring to my community."

Jeffrey Maloney

Jeffrey W. Maloney is the son of Mary Louise Maloney, Business Services Adviser at Northwest Savings Bank in St. Marys. Jeffrey is looking to continue his education at Penn State University in Architecture. At Ridgway High School, Jeffrey was a member of the Science Olympiad, the Debate Team, Student Council, and captain of Scholastic Scrimmage.

"I think it is very important to share your fortunes with people who cannot help what cards have been dealt to them."

Robert John Sharkus, III is the son of Margaret Sharkus, Assistant Vice President for Consumer Lending at Abington Bank. Robert is planning on attending Drexel University to study Civil Engineering. At Archbishop Ryan High School, Robert was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Boy Scouts of America, and the school's varsity track team.

"Graduation makes me think of what it took to get there and eveyone that assisted me along the way. The best way to thank these people is to become a role model for others to follow."

Kristen Yealy

Kristen Yealy, is the daughter of Dana Yealy, Esq., General Counsel at the FHLBank Pittsburgh. Kristen will be a Psychology and English Major at Duke University this fall. At North Allegheny High School, Kristen was a member of the Marching Band, Jazz Band, and Orchestra. Outside of school, Kristen is very active in her church - attending mission trips and leading student ministry programs.

"My goal is to provide confidence and reassurance to each person I come in contact with that they have the capability and potential to be a leader as well in their community."
